Bio
Frank van Lingen received his MSc in Numerical Mathematics in 1996 from Utrecht University (Netherlands) and his PDeng in Software Technology from the Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands) in 1999. From 1997 until 1999 he worked at a Physics and Electronics Laboratory for defense research on the integration of a geographical information system and simulation environments. For four years, Frank worked as software technologist at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland on data integration, which formed the basis for his PhD thesis in Computer Science. From 2003 until 2009, Frank was associated to the High Energy Physics group at the California Institute of Technology where he worked on the development and the support of distributed systems for the CERN based LHC experiments. From 2009 until now he is working for Radio Television Suisse (RTS) in Geneva Switzerland on the migration and integration of a multi-media content management system (CMS). Other topics of interests to Frank van Lingen are high performance computing, simulation, graphs, distributed systems, databases, and software design. Non work related activities of Frank include cycling, hiking, skiing, langlauf, playing chess, and photography.
